Our breeding cats have been carefully selected from all over the world. They undergo comprehensive health and DNA screening to help us make responsible, informed breeding decisions to give our kittens the healthiest possible start.
Our parent cats and kittens benefit from:
• FIV & FeLV Testing — All of our breeding cats are tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
• Heart Disease / HCM Screening — Our parent cats are screened for evidence of heart disease, including Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).
• Comprehensive Genetic Health Testing — Our parent cats undergo extensive DNA health screening through “Basepaws” or “Wisdom Panel”, including testing for known inherited genetic conditions and disease-associated variants included in their respective panels.
• Full Color & Trait DNA Testing — We maintain detailed color and trait DNA information on our breeding cats. Knowing what each cat carries allows us to carefully select pairings and make thoughtful, genetically informed breeding decisions.
• Two-Year Genetic Health Guarantee — Every Cali Companion Kitties kitten is backed by a two-year health guarantee against qualifying life-altering genetic diseases, as outlined in our kitten contract.
